Probablemente estés leyendo este post en un smartphone con un sistema operativo desarrollado por Apple o Google. Es posible (y recomendamos ;)) que compartas este contenido con alguien a través de WhatsApp, que pertenece a Meta, además de Instagram. Cuando se carga un enlace en Internet, esa página probablemente esté conectada a uno de los gigantescos centros de datos de Amazon.

Estas cuatro empresas, Amazon, Apple, Google y Meta, conocidas como las 4 Grandes, dominan muchas facetas de nuestras vidas. Pero ninguno de ellos llegó allí solo. Durante décadas, adquirieron cientos de negocios con el objetivo de impulsar su crecimiento, llegar a nuevos mercados e incorporar nuevas tecnologías, hasta convertirse en los gigantes más poderosos del mundo. Todos siguieron más o menos el mismo patrón: se volvieron dominantes en sus negocios originales. Luego crearon nuevos brazos, realizando adquisiciones en diferentes industrias para agregar nuevas fuentes de ingresos y para superar a los competidores.

Si estás en el mercado tecnológico y no estás considerando el crecimiento inorgánico en tu estrategia de mediano y largo plazo, sin duda estás cediendo a tus competidores la oportunidad de convertirse en el próximo Amazon, Apple, Google o Meta de tu mercado.
